SOUTHWEST TRIP

Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest

From Yosemite we drove on to the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest just east of Big Pine, CA. Talk about a steep and twisty road! This drive was a lulu. We camped at over 9000 feet and drove on up to the trees at over 10,000 feet. The poor truck made it with the trailer in tow. A lot of first gear driving. Big worry was getting out the next day with those STEEP downhill grades.
