Hiking in Pt. Reyes

The next day we started out at the visitor's center and hiked a part of the Bear Valley Trail. We sow many wild flowers in bloom even though it was late July. We tried to identify them with the aid of our Audubon Society Wildflower Guide, but did not have much luck. Any assistance will be appreciated.

We have found the Audubon book to be great for the desert and mountain area flowers but wi always have difficulty finding those flowers nearer the coast.

Here is Yoshi, ready to head down the trail

Here are some Foxglove blossoms we encountered early on the hike.

The trail followed a canyon stream and there were many ferns along the trail

These Raspberries are large and plump but not ripe yet

This Morning Glory blossom was in perfect shape

We are not sure what this opening blossom is

We unable to identfy this plant with certainty

And another miss.

Near Drake's Bay, at Limantour Beach, there is a marshy area with a lot of cat tails, thistles and other marsh plants.
