Our favorite "living history" museum is Sturbridge Villag, MA. This village recreates life in the area in 1830. It is really like stepping into a page of the past when one visits there and the photo opportunities are a photographers delight.
These three pages show a few of the photos the three of us took during our one day visit there.


These girls are playing games typical of the 1830s.

The clothes these girls are wearing are accurate for the period

These wood fired kettles are cooking dyes for coloring yarn. Natural pigments are used and the yarn is hand spun in the village.

These women are dying the yarn bundles.
